Owen Achterberg is QLD Men’s Mid Amateur Champion for 2025

Gold Coast Amateur Owen Achterberg yesterday triumphed at RACV Royal Pines to win the Qld Men’s Mid Amateur.  It was a hard fought event over three rounds with the lead changing hands on several occasions.

Owen, from Emerald Lakes Golf Club bounced back after having the 18-hole lead to win narrowly at +4. Close behind, finishing one shot back (+5) was round two leader Tony Summerfeldt playing out of the Redcliffe Golf Club Inc.
