OPEN PENNANT FINALISTS FOR 2026

The Open Pennants Semi-Finals were conducted today in two highly competitive and hard-fought contests across the District.

At Surfers Paradise Golf Club, Emerald Lakes secured a convincing 6–1 victory over Burleigh Golf Club. Despite the final score line, the majority of individual matches were closely contested and extended deep into the round.

Meanwhile, at Emerald Lakes Golf Club, the match between Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club and Surfers Paradise Golf Club proved even tighter.  Sanctuary Cove ultimately prevailed 5–2, with most matches decided on or around the 18th hole, reflecting the high standard of play on display.

The District congratulates all semi-finalists, along with the players, team managers and club staff who contributed to a successful day of Pennant competition.

The District also extends its sincere appreciation to both Emerald Lakes Golf Club and Surfers Paradise Golf Club for hosting today’s matches.

District representatives in attendance to support the host clubs included Rob Barley, Peter O’Brien and Dave Thomas.

Attention now turns to the Open Pennants Final, to be played next Sunday. The venue and tee times will be confirmed and communicated on Monday, 16 March 2026.
