2023 Team Match Play Series Final Results

The Teams Match Play series final was played at RACV Royal Pines on November 12. Once again, 84 junior golfers competed in this, the final of the series for 2023.

The overall winning club (combined teams scores) was Emerald Lakes.

Emerald Lakes Team 1 also won the highest team score, in second place was Royal Pines Team 2, and in third place was Emerald Lakes Team 2.

David Thomas, the GCDGA’s Junior Golf Facilitator is to be congratulated for offering our golfers a fresh approach to match play and inter club pennants. He is determined that with some tweeks to this year’s format, next year’s event will be that bit better.

Thank you to all clubs, their team managers and of course the parents of the junior golfers, who, as, without them, such events cannot function.

2020/2021 Junior Pennant and Junior Interclub Final Results

The finals on Sunday 14th February 2021 were a roaring success with amazing golf being played by our talented juniors. Congratulations and thank you to all team managers, clubs and parents/guardians for the dedication and support of our junior golfers.

Surfers Paradise & Southport tied at 2 1/2 each. Surfers Paradise won in a sudden death play off at the 3rd hole.

Emerald Lakes & Burleigh tied at 3 all. Emerald Lakes won on the first playoff hole.

2021/2022 Open Mixed Pennant Winners

The 2021-22 finals played at Royal Pines on Sunday 13 February, 2022 saw some outstanding golf and a “cliff hanger” finish.

The Emerald Lakes Junior Open team proved too strong for Surfers Paradise, with Kai Komulainen (second from right) defeating Billy Dowling on the 2nd play off hole to break the 21/2 to 21/2 score line.

2021/2022 Interclub Result:

The front runners for the season, Coolangatta above proved way too strong for the fast finishing Emerald Lakes team in the Interclub mixed pennant. Coolangatta/Tweed prevailed with a strong 41/2 to 11/2 result.
