2025 Queensland District Championships Update

The 2025 Queensland District Championships, hosted by Golf Queensland, began yesterday at RACV Royal Pines under overcast skies.

Our Gold Coast District team, led by Grant Wernerson (Burleigh Golf Club), produced a strong performance in Round 1, finishing the day in second place behind defending champions Wide Bay.

Excellent effort, team—keep it up! Our team is made up of various players who succeeded in the recent graded tournament held at Burleigh.

The other players in the team are: Hayden Bell, Shaun Arden, Mark Patterson, Connor White and Bruce Withers.

Round 1 featured a 2-ball Ambrose format with a 12:30 pm shotgun start, and prior to play, our team joined the ladies’ representatives for a group photo to mark the occasion.

The championship continues today, Monday 10 November, with single stroke and Stableford rounds across the various divisions commencing at 12.30pm, followed by the final round tomorrow, Tuesday 11 November, commencing from 7:30 am.

Spectators are encouraged to come along to RACV Royal Pines to support our players and enjoy some quality golf from teams across Queensland.
